Don’t know how to start, but I got no one to talk to, so I just gonna put it out here even when no one read them. I heard the news from my mom this morning, my Grandpa had past away two days ago. Last friday for exact. I felt the sickness in my stomach and it bothered me all day long. Just like when my aunt past away a few years ago. It did hurt a lil bit more, since this means I could never met him. I’m so sorry, Grandpa, I just didn’t have enough money to fly there and visit you.
I never met him, only heard name and story of how great and kind person he is. He’s a farmer and also a tailor. His clients was all happy with his work. Even when the payment wasn’t that great, he is always happy to be able to help. Wait, actually I never meet both my Grannie and my Grandpa. Me and my family move to Batam since I was a lil baby, and I never been back to my moms hometown ever since. Only my lil brotha, had the chance once. My Grannie pas away when I still in my elementary school. Only heard their story from my mom. Her youngest brother look after my Grannie and Grandpa. He’s family not so much different from us, they’re not rich, but they help as much as they can. I also only meet my Uncle once when I was lil, he’s visiting us only for a few days.
My Grandpa live a pretty long life. According to my sister, he probably about a hundred something. My sister still remember few things about him, a few good old days precious memories. But he’s been sick and can’t get out of bed for over a year. So, it is a bit of a relief for us and for my uncle too, cause now my grandpa doesn’t have to feel pain anymore. And he is in much batter place now. Maybe it’s just the way it is. Maybe I’m not destine to meet the man who I secretly admired. I really wanted to go to see him with my parents back then when they planning the trip, but we’re not rich, my mom n pap had to sell our house to make the trip. Even after buying a new house, still could only afford to brought my lil brotha.
Now, I’m just hoping that one day, I’ll be able to visit him, visit my moms hometown. And visit my uncle. I kinda miss him so much right now.
R.I.P Grandpa, hope the Big Guy gives you the best seat beside him, hope you see Grannie too, I love you…
